Að loknum mánudegi.

Við viljum byrja á því að þakka velvild ykkar foreldra og forráðamanna vegna tímabundinna breytinga á skólastarfinu í ljósi C19.
Þó dagurinn hafi almennt gengið mjög vel þá er töluvert um fjarveru bæði starfsfólks og nemenda. Sjö starfsmenn okkar eru t.a.m. í sóttkví, þar af 2 íþróttakennarar. Þriðji íþróttakennarinn er í fæðingarorlofi og því er erfitt um vik að manna kennslu í íþróttum og sundi. Hins vegar hafa íþróttir verið kenndar úti þennan morguninn.
Í samráði við fræðslu- og sóttvarnayfirvöld munum við halda áfram með skipulag skólastarfsins eins og kom fram í síðasta bréfi okkar, þ.e. við erum á stigi sóttvarnahólfa. Við reynum að halda úti eðlilegu skólastarfi eins og okkur er frekast unnt en það er skoðað dag frá degi. Það getur þýtt að starfsfólk þurfi að fara á milli hólfa en þá leggjum við áherslu á hanska- og grímunotkun.
Stig sóttvarnahólfa gildir til og með 14. október en við munum endurskoða fyrirkomulagið eftir næstu helgi og sjá hvort ástæða sé til að draga úr aðgerðum.
Munið að við erum öll almannavarnir. Það hefur líklega aldrei átt betur við eins og nú. Og samtaka náum við að halda grunnþjónustunni gangandi.

At the end of school on this Monday.
Dear families of students in Vallaskóli.
We would like to begin with thanking you for your patience towards these temporarily changes in the school day, due to the C19-virus.
Even though broadly this morning went smoothly, there were quite a few absentees, both staff and students. Seven of our staff are at this moment in quarantine. There of two PE teachers. The third PE teachers is on fraternity leave. So, it is quite difficult to teach sports and swimming. However, we held sport classes outside this morning.
In cooperation with the local educational- and health authorities we will carry on with organizing the education of your children as we stated in our last letter. That is, by dividing the school in to quarantine compartments (we apologize for that we didn’t have time to translate that letter and send to you this morning)
We will do our utmost to keep the school day as normal as we can and that is going to be reviewed day by day. There may rise a need to move staff between compartments, but if we do so we will emphasize the use of masks and rubber gloves.
This level of compartmentation is scheduled to last until the 14th of October, but will be reviewed after next weekend, whether we can reduce these precautions.
Remember we are all civil protection. It has never been more to than now. With a combined effort we will keep our vital service up and running.
