Hello everyone and a happy new year
In this letter we will discuss one topic:
1. The extension of desease control regulation from the first of January to
the 28th of Febuary 2021.
Further:
1. The government has retified a new regluation on the 21th of December 2020
and it will take affect from the first of January 2021 until the 28th of Feburary
2021 (see the following link https://www.reglugerd.is/reglugerdir/eftirraduneytum/hrn/nr/1306-2020).
Fortunately, the regulation adds to further relaxations towards school activities
(see Article 4). In short, this means that school activities will return to normal
from 5th of January 2021, subject to the restrictions set out below.
The main limitations are as follows (primarily affecting school staff):
• The school will be at the level of disease control areas. Students and staff can
move between areas of the school, but not unnecessarily. As before, everyone
will be asked to take good care of their own disease control.
• The number of students per space is now limited to 50 individuals in all grades.
Students may mix between students groups. Exceptions to this limit are as
follows: In the schools halls, at the entrance, in the toilets, cafeteria and on the
school bus.
• All students can now use the cafeteria according to mealtimes in the timetable.
There are some minor restrictions in the cafeteria. The school administrators will
be on site to regulate this, also for disinfection and cleaning between groups.
• The number of staff in a space is now limited to 20 individuals as long as a
distance limit of 2 m can be ensured. Otherwise, masks are obligatiory. Staff
will be allowed to move between students groups. Staff should normally wear
face masks in common areas of the school.
• Parents and guardians should still not enter school buildings. If necessar they
need to wear a masks and gloves.
